Tragedy and Inspiration: Newtown, Conn. Community mourns the loss of
Sandy Hook Elem. Students and Staff
Tragic events today, my heart tugging to find answers, or hope. I
found hope in the children. I had to journal out loud. I just want to
reach out to those affected by the events at the Sandy Hook School
today in Newtown, Conn. <3
Turn from fear to inner peace, we are never fully safe, still, be
empowered to continue to walk boldly in your life's path, lifting all
we can't control or change to God. Taking each step in prayer and
faith.
Today, this "Newtown" lead us to a "Newly Awakened America" ~ moving
many to reflect on, and cherish the importance of family wholeness,
where promises, vows, discipline, responsibility, hard work, hugs,
being present, being open, sharing love and understanding,... matter.
I am reminded to cherish childhood years, because no one is promised
tomorrow, cherish and enjoy what really matters ~ experience simple
beauty and joy in every moment, because that moment is now, it is
yesterdays good memory, and it builds tomorrow.
Tonight you took us to church and your children spoke to our hearts,
their innocence reviving the most calloused of hearts, piercing
through the same media so often and all to easily desensitized to
violence and destruction, today felt the pain seen in the most
innocent of eyes, speaking straight to our hearts, reminding us the
vital importance to faithfully live out our parental, spousal, and
civic responsibilities with dedication, to nurture our family and
others hurting in our community. Your town inspired and comforted the
hurting by showing great reverence to faith, family, and community.
May God hold you all through this great tragedy.
Heartfelt sympathy and prayers for those who are in anyway affected by
the trauma forced upon the most innocent among us today. As only you
really know what you are going through, I can not imagine your pain,
and there are just no words to express, explain, or understand, but
America is here for you, prayers, listening ears, shoulders to cry on,
it may never be enough but we are here. My prayers are with you all
tonight as I light a candle and pray for you. <3

Our Christmas nightmare from Grange Insurance... just have to vent... sigh...
A couple nights after Christmas, we were thrown unto a nightmare with
insurance companies, a drunk driver, and adjusters who seem to have no
souls. Basically, I wish @Grange insurance would actually give us
enough money to put us back to where we were before their allegedly
drunk/high client totaled our only running vehicle, as our children
watched - then he RAN off INTO the darkness, which terrorized the
kids, who are scared he is still out there. We also knew the next day
we were finally signing to rent a HOME after months of living out of
that van, going here, there and everywhere to work things out, etc.
All our stuff was in it that van.. all we have been hauling with us.
We have been couch surfing staying in shelters, and with friends and
family for months & we were up against deadlines, so by missing the
date to sign this, we knew we were looking at possibly more months of
homelessness, we all knew this, so watching this drunk hit our van was
like watching everything we worked for smash up all over the road!! We
called #grange right away, and heard nothing from them for days,
leaving us stranded about 4 hours away from where we were living at
the time, possibly making us permanently homeless and further
oppressing us, the victims of THEIR client's hit skip crime! Then they
want to only give us enough money to cover junk value of our vehicle.
We can't buy another van in any running condition for that, no matter
how you figure it. Somehow they can sleep at night... well we can't.
This is so wrong, I wish we could afford an attorney, but then they
would keep so much it wouldn't be worth it in the long run. We went
into the local office, only to be put on the phone with a supervisor,
given the run around, brought to shaking tears, until out of
desperation, we just took their pathetic initial offer, even after
they admitted they too could not find a replacement van for that
price, and yet trying to tell us we don't understand... really... I am
pretty sure they don't understand. We have been put out financially
way beyond their offer, let alone out our vehicle. Where do these
people come from and how can they do this to people? I begged him to
just do for us what he would want done for him, to just think about
basic humanity and he just said it is about the numbers... the
numbers... I am pretty sure it is about our lives being turned upside
down. He didn't care or ask how the kids were handling it... it is
just about the numbers. I pray this is somehow a blessing in disguise.
Please pray for us and for Grange to do the right thing.

Poverty in America - We have the power to make things better
...noticing the rain and cold makes me think about those without a roof over their head tonight... so many empty houses and wasted food, lonely people with rooms to share, people driving places with empty seats, while so many would be blessed to fill those spots... oh how bureaucracy, banks, sin and fear (and fear of sinners who take advantage - or are criminals taking advantage of good intentions), bind us and blind us, from healing our land and bringing our own country out of poverty and need. Yet we send tons of money over seas for political gain, and turn a blind eye to our suffering neighbors here at home, our service men and women are ignored and left to their own after giving their entire life for us... if we all found one way to reach out, what a huge difference it would make and it would empower us to help each other instead of the government filling the void left by our greed. I am here if you need me and I am sorry if I was ever not there when you needed me. peace n hugs guys :0)
