Free Cell Phone for low-income Americans now available in Ohio (and other areas, check this link to see if your area is qualified!)

This program is a new twist to the already existing lifeline credit program. The lifeline credit program is a small credit for low-income and elderly people to ensure they are able to make calls if they need to. Many who are low-income are because of health issues and calling doctors and family is a vital part of their care and living vs. existing. The cell phone option may be better because with the land line, you can have your phone shut off, with the cell phone option, it can not be turned off because you are not able to over-use it. When it runs out of minutes, it runs out. It can help people better budget their time on the phone. I don't believe it has texting either.

If you qualify, your phone will arrive in 5-10 days. Please share this post with your friends and family, many may qualify who don't realize it and with this economy, many who never had to use programs like this are finding the necessity to use them, so please share this.

"SafeLink Wireless is a government supported program that provides a free cell phone and airtime each month for income-eligible customers."

Please feel free to comment below about any other programs you might know about that could help people. Do you volunteer? Do you know of funding available to charities? Do you need help with your charity? Anything else on your mind? Leave a comment! Please share, WE CARE!
