LOVE your Enemy

<a href="http://s182.photobucket.com/albums/x38/chromedaffodils/?action=view&current=Plans.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x38/chromedaffodils/Plans.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I was disturbed by this bulletin I received today and a few others alike and had to write to share my viewpoint on these issues. The letter is below and my response below that. Thank you and after praying about this for awhile, to those who are insistent on wildly oppressing one side or the other, I am not deleting ANY of you. You were my friend last week and an event in another (or any) part of the world does NOT change how I feel about YOU in this corner of the world. You are my friend. A friend is thick and thin. Enough said and feel free to repost if you feel the same. Take care and peace starts with me, so peace to you friends! :0) Have a blessed week! Wendy

note from my friend:

Subject:               Israel has a right to defend itself and messages like this

Body:    In response to messages like this:

"Israel has a right to defend itself, Hamas has got it coming"

I agree that anyone has a right to defend themselves, but the way that this is done is important

Surely genocide and mass murder of many innocent little children is unlikely to win you many friends in this world

Don't bother sending me messages like this because I won't reply to them

A note from ME:

First, who am I to judge..... I am not.

Martha and any other friend who wants to voice your opinion and silence another as to imply yours is the only right answer is very concerning.

I find it disturbing how a war between two groups of people who we are not a part of, would be driving a wedge between our friendships. Reading many bulletins and blogs, it seems as though it has happened enough already between others. If you claim to be loving peace and you want to share your opinion with me, I am fine with that, but understand I also have a voice I may express my view as well and because we may differ on things should not make it so as war ravages our world, we also part.

That to me is hypocritical and as much as someone may tick us off, we have to remember how often we hit "send" or write something up and then think later "oops" or maybe you should have worded it different. Bottom line is that if you are against wars and fighting, certainly you would not do so in your personal life. If you do actively fight or protest or find enemies amongst your friends suddenly because of what you perceive to be truth (to which we all know - truth is only a perception and in this case a battle of propaganda and there may not be a way to find the truth or who is right or wrong.) and what you perceive to be occurring. There are many reasons why each side of this war is occurring.

Seeing the videos of the violence from each side of the war, you could potentially be swayed to choose a "side" and become a part of it. Performing violent acts in your area to somehow become a part of a war far away is honestly a bit ridiculous. If you are against war and violence, promote peace by reaching out to those in your community who need help, etc. and practicing diplomacy.

This war also contains a religious component that many may not understand. With that in mind, read up on Revelation in the King James Version of the Bible and see that Israel has protection from God regardless of what propaganda may say. Also, that does not mean they are perfect. No matter your spiritual beliefs, you know you would never want someone to attack you for that or any other personal belief or private matter. I don't think we should be forced to "pick a side".

Yes, war is terrible, but you know if someone throws the first punch, there is a fight. The teacher always asks who threw the first punch. Does it matter, the fight happened. If one walked (or ran fast) away, there would only be someone throwing punches.

No matter who started it, they both have the power to end it and no matter the number of external fighting that develops around you, or the words bellowed out, only you can decide to maintain yourself at peace. This is not something you would want imposed upon you, but rather freely allowed to fight or stop.

Even still at the fight, everyone knew the fight would happen, and we all know the two sides right now have issues, and the fight would happen. It is no one’s place to call anything because we are in neither shoe and could have no idea of the complexity of the situation. We have to grow strength within our own country and community and support the differences and uniqueness we all have and when one small offense becomes an issue, we need to deal with it and do unto others as we would have them do to us. The laws God gave us have the capability to prevent wars in the first place. He gave them to us because he loves us and so we know how to keep peace, etc. - if that is what we want to do because he also gave us the right to choose.

List of God's Ten Commandments from The Bible

A List of the Bible Ten Commandments given by Moses in Exodus 20

Exodus 20:1-17

1 And God spake all these words, saying,

2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

13 Thou shalt not kill.

14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

15 Thou shalt not steal.

16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

God's List of the Bible Ten Commandments brings you Weekly Bible Verses

Good Health is promised to those who keep the Commandments

Exodus 15:26

And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

Deuteronomy 4:13

And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

Deuteronomy 4:40

Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever.

Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law!

Matthew 5:17

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.”

No man has ever fulfilled (kept) the Law!!

Romans 3:19-28

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.” We at God's List of the Bible Ten Commandments thank you for visiting our site.

I saw some people protesting on TV and I really have to question why show violence as a way to state you are against violence?

Have you taken a minute and  thought about the events going on in the world and that they are one method used to manipulate you into becoming a house divided so when "they" usher in something previously you would have turned your head to in a vomiting rage, you would now welcome? Be aware and beware, because many have been deceived before you and they never knew it. The only way to prevent being brain washed is by not allowing anyone to provoke you to wrath and to love your enemy and pray for guidance and discernment. I prayed for everyone who took the time to read this, that God gives you wisdom, guidance and direction.

Don't let them turn us into ravaging animals, turning on each other as they gather together, sipping their gluttony, feeding their vein arrogance and never getting their fill, while we destroy any chance of bonding to rise up against tyranny and corruption.

In the peace and love of Jesus,

Wendy

  1. I agree that I should try to avoid letting anyone provoke me to wrath. But for me, that is hard, especially if I watch TV news. I really have to struggle with my anger.

There is a scripture that says that I should not let the sun go down on my wrath (Ephesians 4:26). I want to obey this, but so far I haven't figured out how to keep the sun from going down.

  2. I really appreciate your scripture quote. I am sure we all struggle with this because it hurts to have someone come against us and in this world of entitlements and "feel good" mentality, we forget that not everyone is in like mind or even in like faith and some people even want to harm us for our stand on things. The strength in our faith is the knowledge that God understands our struggles, guides us, forgives us and helps us learn and grow because he loves us and wants us to have a close relationship with him. :0) Pray for me and I will pray for you! :0) I also struggle with the sun going down thing because even if you try to make ammends, the other person may put you off or not want to deal with it like you do so then what? The best thing is getting right with God and asking his direction before the sun goes down and hopefully the nest day dealing with it? What do you think?
Also, God doesn't tell us to not have anger. It is a powerful motivator for us to take action where needed as opposed to becoming complacent. Jesus got angry with the money changers and REALLY made a statement by overturning their tables. I think it is important for us to let God lead us in our times of anger and always pray for direction and not to use anger as a way to vent revenge. Thank you for your comment! :0)

  3. I am sorry I did not reply earlier. I did not know about your comment because I usually use the blogger subscription feature to email me about comments made to posts I subscribe to and somehow I didn't see that you commented on my comment.

I think what you say is very good. You are right when you say that not all anger is wrong. God Himself is sometimes angry. I guess the key is to direct our anger constructively to solve a problem for the good of others as well as ourselves, not destructively.

I also have experienced trying to make amends with someone who doesn't really want to deal with me, and at that point I know I have tried and it is the other person's responsibility. And I think you are right in your suggestion of getting right with God and asking His direction. Sometimes I find that if I pray about a situation, the anger goes away, or at least is moderated.
